WHAT IS Learn to play?
Learn to Play is an instructional level youth hockey program designed for kids ages 3-16 to be introduced to and learn the basics of hockey. Learn to Play prepares players to enter the Peak Youth Hockey League program. Participants will be divided into separate portions of the ice based on age. We recommend taking Learn to Skate's Hockey 1-4 sessions (teaches players to skate like a hockey player) in conjunction with Learn to Play.
Prerequisites: Prior to signing up for Learn to Play all prospective players should attend at least two sessions of the Learn to Skate program and complete Hockey 1 prior to beginning the Learn To Play Program.
Required Equipment: Minimum gear required is helmet, shin guards, gloves, stick, and skates; your player is welcome to wear full hockey gear. Hockey gear rental is available, contact Megan Ostler, meostler@provo.org for more information. Cost for rental gear is $150.
